Barberani

- Pure, precise and deeply in tune with the land it calls home.

“We don’t follow trends—we follow the rhythm of the land.”

Few wineries blend soul, science, and scenery quite like Barberani. Nestled in the lush hills of Umbria near Lake Corbara, the Barberani family has been producing wines of elegance and integrity since 1961—always with a deep respect for the land and an eye toward the future.

At Barberani, nature is both muse and partner. Their vineyards lie within the Tiber River Park, surrounded by wild forests and thriving ecosystems. Sustainability isn’t just a goal—it’s how everything is done. Solar-amplified daylight lights the cellar. Grapes are hand-harvested with surgical precision. Even their innovative sulphite-free wines, like the trailblazing Vinoso, are made using only active oxygen and time-honored techniques.

When we first encountered Barberani, we fell head over heals for their Amore, a rosé with the perfect pale pink hue, light on its feet, and effortlessly charming. It’s the kind of wine made for thirsty summer days and long lunches in the sun. Crisp, clean, and just as drinkable as the name suggests, Amore has quickly become one of our go-to rosés.

But what truly sets Barberani apart is the quiet dedication of the people behind it. This is a family deeply rooted in their land, working not for the spotlight, but for the satisfaction of doing things right. There’s a sense of stillness and purpose here—where generations move with the seasons, not against them, and where every decision, from vine to bottle, is guided by care. In a world that moves fast, Barberani reminds us that the best things still take time.
