When we first visited Tenute Baldo in September 2024, we drove straight from the airport to their sleek, modern tasting room in Bevagna. Greeted warmly by owner Matteo, oenologist Luca, and marketing lead Andrea, we were invited to a private tasting that instantly won us over—not just with the wines, but with the deep thought and care behind every bottle.

Tenute Baldo cultivates 60 hectares of vineyards across the rolling hills of Montefalco and the slopes of Torgiano, transforming exceptional grapes into wines that carry history, passion, and purpose. Each label reflects a story, inspired by Montefalco’s rich heritage, while sustainability is at the heart of every decision—from eco-friendly packaging to the use of sugarcane-based corks, chosen for their ability to maintain the perfect density for each wine.

Our tour of the estate continued into the production floor—an impressive blend of cutting-edge technology and deep respect for winemaking heritage. The highlight? Tasting their upcoming Sagrantino straight from the barrel. It was an explosion of complex flavors and pure character, leaving us excited to return and taste it again once it’s bottled.
